Vacation

I've just gotten back to Madagascar after one of the best vacations ever which was unfortunately book ended by the worlds longest and most boring plane rides. Getting to Minnesota from Madagascar involved over 21 hours actually in the airplane and many many more sitting in airports and standing in security lines. But it was worth it; I wouldn't have missed Mom and Joe's wedding for anything. I was so honored to be able to be apart of this wedding the ceremony was beautiful and the party wasn't bad either.

The only disappointing thing about this trip was that it was too short. I so wanted to be able to see everyone and simply didn't have enough time and even of the people I did see I didn't have enough time with you all, please know it wasn't because I didn't want to see you or to spend more time with you but that quite simply there were not enough minutes in the day.

I'll be here in the capital city for a couple more days getting readjusted, repacking and doing some business at the Peace Corps Office and trying to get in contact with a couple of NGOs then it is back to site for a couple of days before heading up to Tamatave to help with the Annual Bike Race Against AIDs. This is a fantastic event organized by an amazing volunteer, Margot Bonner. This is the third year that volunteers in the Tamatave region have organized this event and it becomes stronger and reaches more people every year. I am really looking forward to participating, not only because it will keep me busy and then hopefully I won't get home sick, but at also simply because it is such an amazing event. I'll be back with more details soon.

Other events on my schedule in the next couple of months include; moving into my new house (hopefully), organizing my 1st Volunteer Advisory Committee (VAC) regional meeting and then attending the national VAC meeting, starting my veggie garden, meeting my new site mate, and maybe actually doing something work related.

Thank you a million times over to everyone who made my trip home possible and to everyone who made it so wonderful, I truly do not have the words to tell you how much fun I had.
