Headed Back

(This was supposed to get posted a month ago. Not sure what happened so sorry its late and out of order, Joe do you think you could fix that?)

Just a quick note to let everyone know I am about to head back to my jungle village. I have talked to Peace Corps and have the means to jump start the house building project and will be getting visits from a number of Peace Corps staff people in the next couple of months so hopefully we can get my work plan figured out before our IST (In-service-training) which is mid august.

I went and got myself elected to be the new regional representative for the VAC (volunteer advisory committee) so that should give me something to do. I'll organize regional meetings every three months and go to Tana every once in a while to meet with the country wide VAC. It gives me a platform to make recommendations to PC about stuff that i think needs to be fixed. And best of all it gives me the opportunity to tell people what to do :)

The biggest news is that I just got a ticket to come home for my mom's wedding in early September. I am super excited and a little nervous, what if i don't want to come back?

So have a great month everyone, keep the mail coming and I will be back with more stories at the end of June.
